A Triumphant Journey
Thank you for joining my journey! Like rare and unique roses that grow through concrete cracks, I emerged from behind life's most stubborn odds to find the perfect pair of wings to set myself free.
While being raised in the breakdance era of the early 80s and surviving the violence of the late 80s crack epidemic, I found myself sidetracked along what has been identified as a pipeline to Prison. At the age of eighteen I was wrongly arrested and falsely convicted of murder in Milwaukee. While fighting for my freedom locked away from humanity, it was there then that I reached deep into myself to discover the value of my being.
While in prison I authored over a dozen textbooks for incarcerated persons, taught various classes using my own curriculum, published articles featured in journals and periodicals across the country, and lead prison advocacy campaigns for equal religious rights. Still fighting for my freedom, in the 10th year of my incarceration I created A.M.E.N. 4 Youth - The Academic Mentoring & Education Network - an education consulting concept I would later launch after my release in 2006, fifteen years after my wrongful conviction.

Since my release, I have used my experiences and education to effect change and impact communities most familiar with a shared history and cultural experience. My lived experiences drive my passions for the work I now lead in social and criminal justice advocacy and consultation, youth leadership, education justice, and racial equity. Thank you for joining my journey. I look forward to getting to know you better.
